Yogic Farming Internships

The Ananda Permaculture Program

This program is designed for those hardworking individuals who are enthusiastic about Permaculture and interested in furthering their spiritual growth by apprenticing in our gardens and taking advantage of the meditation and yoga opportunities offered at Ananda.

Ananda Permaculture hosts an ongoing internship program, varying in length from 2 weeks to 6 months.

The internship program offers an in-depth, intensive study of Permaculture in an environment that is supportive of one’s spiritual growth.

Where

Paramhansa Yogananda

Ananda Village is in the Sierra Nevada foothills, 30 minutes west of Grass Valley and Nevada City, California. Ananda Village is an intentional, spiritual community that follows the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda — author of “Autobiography of a Yogi” — founded in 1969 by his direct disciple, Swami Kriyananda.

We partner with Ananda Village’s Expanding Light Guest Retreat Center to provide room and board for the interns that are assisting in the Permaculture gardens. The Expanding Light offers a plethora of yoga and meditation classes, including a daily sadhana (spiritual practice) schedule, as well ongoing service opportunities.
